Continuing to push themselves and offer up new perspectives, Netflix has dropped the trailer for their new horror His House, and we’re already mad invested in these characters and the story.
Directed and written by Remi Weeks, the film sees a young couple (played by Wunmi Mosaku and Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù) struggle to adjust to their new life in England after escaping war-torn South Sudan. However, there’s a lurking, ancient evil within the house they live in, but they dare not say anything in the fear of being sent back to Sudan. It’s such a horrifying and stomach-churning premise, and really makes you fear for these characters as they have to battle and hold their ground against the ancient spirit.
The trailer sees the evil tear through their house, terrorising them in every manner possible. However, the horrifying shots and scenes are interspersed with shots of the couple escaping Sudan, juxtaposing the two different horrors of archaic evil and war.
“I loved the script and I had never read anything like it. There’s something so special about this film, the emotional journey. The truth is the scariest thing.” — @wunmo on His House, a new film by Remi Weekes also starring Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù and Matt Smith. Coming October 30. pic.twitter.com/kwvETZ5EnZ
