The clothing vendor now joins the likes of Balenciaga, Gap and more in cutting ties with the rapper…

Kanye West’s fall from grace continues to get more and more dire, with longtime collaborator and Yeezy partner, Adidas, now the latest brand to distance themselves from him. It comes following a slew of anti-semitic and hateful comments from West online and in various interviews, with his recent appearance on the Drink Champs podcast seemingly being the final nail in the coffin for his public image.

Posting a statement on its website to explain the decision, Adidas wrote, “Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech. Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.

“After a thorough review, the company has taken the decision to terminate the partnership with Ye immediately, end production of Yeezy branded products and stop all payments to Ye and his companies. adidas will stop the adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect.”

The sportswear giant has opened up on its expected losses from the move, stating that it would take a “short-term” hit of €250,000,000 ($450,000,000 AUD). West himself is also set to suffer from the dissolution, with Forbes reporting that his income will fall from $2 billion USD ($3 billion AUD) to $400 million USD ($627 million AUD).

It’s no doubt set to send shockwaves through the fashion industry, however, it seems that the hallowed Yeezy shoe won’t be gone forever, with Adidas concluding its statement by saying, “adidas is the sole owner of all design rights to existing products as well as previous and new colorways under the partnership.”

Kanye West is yet to publicly respond to Adidas’ decision. Considering, however, that he recently boasted on Drink Champs that Adidas would never drop him for his anti-semitic comments, we’re guessing he’s definitely feeling this one. Check out the audacious claim above, along with his full appearance on the podcast below.
