With an estimated 100 billion items of clothing going into landfill each year, AIME and MJ Bale are once again stepping up to make a difference.

What is Suits For Suits you ask? It’s a collaborative exhibition hosted by charity organisation AIME and suit slinger MJ Bale where in 14 suits that will be the canvas for some of Australia’s most promising artists to transform into works of art, breathing new life into the garments. The garments are then auctioned off on AIME’s website to raise funds that help the organistaion continue to do important work in Indigenous communities and beyond.

Each artist will be customising, dyeing, embellishing, painting or printing to give the suits a new life, ready to be shared with the world. Included are artworks from the likes of international artist and proud Bundjalung woman, Bronwyn Bancroft, along with Georgia Hill and Dan Single (Ksubi Co-Founder and AIME Creative Director) – just to name a few.

“Suits For Suits is about us building bridges from a traditional corporate symbol to open the doors for kids around the world to see through the world of imagination, and what is possible,” says AIME Founder, Jack Manning Bancroft.

“It’s an honour for M.J. Bale to work again with AIME, an organisation transforming the lives of not just First Nation kids, but marginalised children worldwide. Textile waste and toxic landfill is a huge challenge facing our generation and the generations to come, and this project with AIME hopefully shines a spotlight on the opportunity we have to not just reuse and recycle, but use our collective imagination to reclaim the future,” adds M.J. Bale Founder, Matt Jensen/
