Calvin Klein have started the week off with plenty of flare, the global apparel giant launching their official ‘This Is Love’ collection with pop megastar Troye Sivan, along with an exclusive local capsule designed by First Nations artist, Jake Simon.

Created to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community for Pride, ‘This Is Love’ not only updates Calvin Klein’s signature underwear and clothing pieces with new colours and cuts, but it also offers new additions to the campaign, with offering such as a bodysuit, cropped and double-layer tee all on offer. The designs of the new drop as a whole, however, is bold and vibrant, with eye-catching ‘This Is Love’ graphics emblazoned throughout to affirm the its main message.

And in what’s an important addition to this year’s offerings, proud Worimi Biripi man Jake Simon has designed a series of artful tees and accessories. Defined by pops of colour, shapes, line and dot work as well as traditional First Nations art, the capsule pays tribute to the hundreds of different Tribes, skin and language groups living on the Gadigal lands of the Eora Nation.

Speaking on the new collection, Jake explains, “Being a proud gay man, the colours and meaning behind the palette really resonate with me. The motif of joining circles represents community, while arrow shapes are both journey and warrior. The shapes and the meaning behind this speak volumes, representing the minorities within the community who are strong and resilient and showing that love wins.”

Definitely an important collection ready for this year’s Pride celebrations. Be sure to head to Calvin Klein’s official website for more information. For now, check out official models for the campaign, Troye Sivan, Nathan McGuire and Manahou Mackay, rock the new pieces below.
