Calvin Klein have enlisted local and international talent for their new drop and also committed to $400K to LGBTQIA+ NGOs.

To quote the Jackie DeShannon song, “what the world needs now, is love sweet love”, and Calvin Klein are once again putting their money and creative energy where their mouth is, championing inclusivity and reimagining their approach to “pride” with their new campaign This Is Love.

The drop, which includes underwear, activewear and apparel, celebrates the non-traditional and elevates the LGBTQI+ rainbow with each item including a woven label that reveals what each colour of the Flag represents: Black for Beauty; Brown for Power; Pink for Sex; Orange for Healing; Yellow for Sunlight; Tan for Harmony; White for Nonbinary; Turquoise for Magic; Blue for Serenity.

The campaign features filmmaker John Waters and actress Mink Stole, actress Sasha Lane and Sergio Lane, team members from LGBTQ youth organisation The Trevor Project, musician Snail Mail and her people, legendary ballroom house House of Xtravaganza, hairstylist Holli Smith and her fiancé Pony, actor Justice Smith and his actor boyfriend Nic Ashe and Afrofuturistic arts collective TRIBE.

It comes with the news that Calvin Klein has committed $400,000 in support of NGOs fighting for LGBTQIA+ equity, advocacy, safety and justice, including a continued partnership with BlaQ Aboriginal Corporation in its efforts to strengthen visibility of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTQIA+ community.
