A mature take on the classic.

International model Natalie Westling loves Vans – so much so that she has the brand’s logo tattooed on her right forearm, balanced by the word ‘skate’ scrawled on her left.

Having previously fronted Vans campaigns, it only feels right that Westling has now designed her own version of the iconic Sk8-Hi, given an upmarket twist with Opening Ceremony also thrown into the mix. Westling has skated since she was three years old, and continues to balance board-riding and runway-walking to this very day. The Sk8-Hi arrives with a tan nubuck upper which darkens to a brown midsole, divided by the iconic strip in subdued blue. It’s a mature take on the sneaker which can be seen in action in the trailer below:

“I was so honored to be a part of the Sk8-Hi campaign recently that it only felt right to choose the Sk8-Hi. All in all, I wanted to create a shoe that I could skate in but was also different from all of my other Vans,” Westling said. In the lookbook shot by Christin Rose, the model shows her fashion prowess by skating while still looking nonchalantly farshun. Models, right?
