The legendary Aussie shoe company which is older than your grandma has had something of a resurgence back into the culture. Partnering with Gen Z creatives and musicians, as well as being worn by skaters, surfers and BMX riders as the official shoe of the 2024 Australian Olympic Team, Volley is undoubtedly having a moment.
Capitalising on this, they’ve today dropped their most fashion-forward sneaker to date, the Baseline. Coming in three simple colourways: Black/Gum, White/Taupe and Canvas/Green, the Baseline is inspired by the Volley’s tennis roots – FYI, Volley was developed by tennis champion Adrian Quist in 1939 – and has a sporty but relaxed feel.
The shoe would pair perfectly with an understated outfit, block colours and maybe your favourite jorts. As seen in the campaign video below, the shoes aren’t precious and are made to be worn not boxed-up with the moth balls in your wardrobe.
Outside of aesthetics, the Baseline offers quality craftsmanship with a full-grain leather upper, suede trims, and a vintage-inspired V logo. Featuring the brand’s signature herringbone sole, it ensures grip and durability. Comfort is prioritised with heel-to-toe padding and a lightweight nylon tongue, finished with woven Volley branding.
