With Flume having to pull out of next year’s Splendour, organisers have today announced a more-than-capable headliner who is stepping up to take his spot – Damon Albarn’s Gorillaz. It’s huge news for fans of the band who haven’t had a chance to see them play since their Plastic Beach tour back in 2010.
No word yet on who will be joining the band whose most recent collaborators include Fatoumata Diarwawa, Georgia, Octavian Peter Hook, ScHoolboy Q, Slaves, slowthai and the recently passed Tony Allen.
Tyler, The Creator and The Strokes are both still able to play and will headline nights of their own.
