The track follows on from last month’s ‘There’d Better Be A Mirrorball’. Both tracks continue the reflective, brooding trajectory of the band’s previous album, Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, swapping out perfectly packaged indie-rock guitar hooks for more complex ballads filled with strings and harpsichord.
To top it off, ‘Body Paint’ comes with an incredibly cinematic music video, filmed across London and Missouri and directed by Brook Linder, which well and truly secures itself a spot in the music video hall of fame.
The upcoming album was written by frontman Alex Turner, produced by James Ford and recorded at Butley Priory in Suffolk, RAK Studios in London, and La Frette in Paris.
