It seems every day now artists are announcing shows across the country, and today, veteran rockers Ball Park Music have added themselves to that ever-growing list. This announcement is a bit extra special for the Brissy five-piece, however, with their upcoming tour being their first in over four years.
Named after their upcoming album Weirder & Weirder, the tour will be kicking off in the band’s hometown of Brissy on June 3rd, with the indie-rock outfit taking to the Fortitude Music Hall to celebrate the release of their latest LP. Fans across the country will get their chance to see the ‘Cherub’ singers up close and personal, however, with Ball Park announcing shows at iconic venues around Australia such as the Hordern Pavillion in Sydney, the Forum in Melbourne and the Astor Theatre in Perth.
Coming along for the ride will be Darwin’s King Stingray, Adelaide duo Teenage Joans and Melbourne band RAT!hammock, all of whom being on support duties. It’s a pretty solid bill for any Aussie indie-rock fan, a fact that Ball Park is understandably aware of, with the band stating, “We are so excited to have King Stingray, Teenage Joans and Rat!Hammock joining us on this tour. We’ve been admiring their music from afar for a while now, we can’t wait to share a stage with them on what’s going to be one hell of a tour.”
Speaking on their excitement for the upcoming shows, the Brissy five-piece added, “Whilst we’ve jumped at every live opportunity that’s presented itself to us over the last couple of years, there is nothing like headlining your own tour. We’ve missed that shared experience of live shows with the fans, and we can’t wait to do that again…with a few new tunes in tow!”
