Guessing all the money goes into Birdman’s pocket too…

Giving an insight into one of the shadiest record labels in the world, Cash Money label head Birdman has opened up about how much his label makes off artist’s masters, and it’s a hell of a lot.

Sitting down on hip hop podcast Where’s Wallo, the music industry mogul explained his insane profits, revealing “We licence the music. I just started letting people sample my shit. So yeah, it’s a gang of ways you make money with your masters. We generate $20 million – $30 million USD (around $40 million AUD) just on our masters.”

Makes sense, considering over the years Cash Money has had some of the biggest rappers signed to their label at one time or another, being host to the likes of Drake, Tyga, Nicki Minaj, and of course Lil Wayne, who officially left in 2018 while Drizzy bounced the year after.

Since then, Cash Money has been sued more than any other label in modern history, first by Drake for withholding his profits and after by Lil Wayne, who’s dispute with Birdman got so heated that he even tweeted in 2014 “I am a prisoner and so is my creativity. Again, I am truly sorry and I dont blame ya gif ya fed up with waiting 4 me & this album But thank you”.”

Pretty insane. Check out Birdman’s Where’s Wallo interview below to see him flex on all the money Cash Money makes below.
