Pop sensation Billie Eilish is barely out of her teens, yet she’s racking up a resumè most of us would be lucky to reach by our 30s (if ever). Hot off dropping her second album Happier Than Ever, the 19-year-old has expanded into another corner of pop culture: footwear.
It appears to be part of the overall celeb blueprint, stars before her like Kanye West and Kylie Jenner linking up with brands like Adidas and Puma for mega-deals that have seen them drastically increase their portfolio. But Eilish might’ve just topped both of those celebs (she has in our opinion), joining forces with Air Jordan for two signature silhouettes.
The new partnership is quintessential Billie, so much so that it calls back to her debut album When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go as well as her most recent record Happier Than Ever. Consequently, the first pair of kicks is immersed in that signature green tone Billie popularised in her early days while the desert tan shoes reference the vintage aesthetic she’s been sporting as of late.
In a pretty cool twist, the sneakers are completely sustainable, being 100% environmentally friendly while being made up of over 20% recycled materials. Writing on Instagram, the ‘Ocean Eyes’ singer added “I am SO excited to finally share my two Air Jordan silhouettes with you!!
“I’ve always loved @jumpman23 🥰 and it was such an incredible and surreal experience getting to create these, especially in a sustainable fashion.”
It seems Eilish will be able to add ‘Shoe designer’ to her list of accolades. Get an in-depth look at the kicks below.
