Drake’s New Nike Collaboration Is Coming, And It’s A Little More Low-Key Than We Expected

For a rapper who promoted his album with a heart-shaped haircut and custom Rolls Royce, Drake’s recent merch-grab is decidedly low-key.

Swelling up more hype in the wake of his elongated album roll-out, Canadian rapper Drake has seemingly made the finishing touches on his collaboration with Nike. Images of the customised Air Force 1, which look to be inspired by Drake’s upcoming ‘Certified Lover Boy’ project, have surfaced online, but even the most eagle-eyed of fans may not notice the subtle changes he’s made to the staple shoe.

The footwear collaboration maintains Air Force’s classic silhouette and triple-white colourway, but has upped the quality with tumbled leathers more premium than the standard shoe. In what seems to be his only alteration to the Swoosh original, Drake added an embossment which replaced Nike’s ‘Air’ text with a cursive message reading ‘Love You Forever.’ This, coupled with a lower-toe addition of tiny hearts, falls in line with the loved-up softboi themes of the rapper’s next LP.

And while the effortless changes aren’t as lavish as Drake’s recent promotional splurge on an album-themed Rolls Royce (customised with chrome hearts and engraved rims), the rapper has nonetheless done his job. Drake’s sixth studio album will no doubt oversaturate the airwaves when ‘Certified Lover Boy’ drops later this year. In the meantime, peep Drake’s 1000x more expensive Rolls Royce below:
