Mowgli May steps up to the Weber on the second episode of Q THE MUSIC.

If you’re flying around the country playing festivals, attending private events, and hosting radio shows, chances are you’re used to making and eating food on the go. That was certainly evident when we hung out with producer, DJ and emerging icon Mowgli May for ep#2 of Q The Music with Weber Barbecues .

Sydney’s Korean queen was strictly business, cooking her scrumptious take on Ssam (Korean for “wrapped”) barbecued pork in barely 15 mins AKA it was easier than ordering online and much quicker, with Mowgli proving to be a weapon with the tongs.

That said, her spiciness gauge may need some recalibration as host Boo Seeka found out the hard way… It turns out years of dropping heaters on the dance floor has left her slightly immune to a mouthful of fire.

Ingredients

– pork belly
– green oak leaf lettuce
– garlic
– Korean ssamjang
– Korean green chilli peppers
– rice
– sesame oil
– salt and pepper

Method

Turn Weber on to medium-high heat.

Cook rice and set aside.

Cut pork belly into long strips and place on the barbecue, cooking for six mins each side.

Cook whole garlic cloves on the barbecue for two mins, then slice.

Remove pork and use scissors to cut into smaller chunks.

Use lettuce leaf as bowl/wrap and combine rice, ssamjang, pork belly, chilli peppers (sliced)
