It makes sense that British indie-electro powerhouse Jack Garratt chose to play his bonafide smash ‘Time’ for episode one of the Welcome Sessions. Not only is the track one of the most emotionally gripping from the Love, Death & Dancing chronicles, but it was also the beginning of a new shift musically for him. Kicking off the L,D&D releases, ‘Time’ introduced us listeners to a deeper iteration of Jack as an artist, which makes this performance back at the venue where it all started all the more poignant.
London’s Village Underground, located a short around the corner from the iconic Brick Lane, has been a launchpad for countless UK artists who’ve made the journey to Britain’s capital to kickstart their musical careers. Wycombe-born Jack Garratt is no different, performing the final show of his debut UK tour there to a crowd of 700 (extremely lucky) people.
