Since emerging from South-West Sydney, Kerser has risen to become one of Australia’s most prolific rappers with his brand of brash street raps. Refusing to pander to mainstream media or radio, Kerser’s abrasive approach has earned him a cult fan base, making his presence felt frequently on the ARIA charts and numerous sold out tours. Still, he managed to further raise eyebrows when artwork began circulating last month online, promising a new single titled ‘Total Concentration’ alongside Future and Young Buck. The song is produced and presented by Canberra’s Ghosts In The Room, whose portfolio includes work with the likes of Kool G Rap and Havoc.
Today, the track has been officially released, marking one of the biggest and most unexpected Australian rap projects in recent memory. Over menacing production, Cashville resident and G-Unit member Young Buck delivers the opening verse and hook with an equally rugged approach, before Future arrives with codeine-covered lines about his various iced-out possessions, and Kerser closing out the track with charisma and references to his Campbelltown roots.
You can listen to ‘Total Concentration’ below, which certainly marks an exciting time for hip-hop coming from Down Under. Future will be arriving in Australia later this month to headline Listen Out dates across the country – will Australia be treated to a live performance of the new single? Only time will tell:
