Retirement really is treating Logic well, the 30-year-old former rapper enjoying the simple pleasures in life now he’s stepped away from the mic. He left on quite the high as well, with his final album No Pressure debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Now, he’s making good use of all of his free time, from making twitch-inspired beat tapes, focusing on being a father, and most recently, setting world records buying Pokemon cards.
We’re not kidding, he literally set a record betting on a Pokemon card, dropping $226,000 USD ($312,430 AUD) on a PSA 10 Base Set 1st Edition Charizard card. It’s the highest known sale of any Pokemon card and any Nintendo collectable for that matter. But not by a whole lot, with YouTuber Logan Paul dropping $216,000 USD ($298,937 AUD) on a base set booster box. But if we had to choose between the two, we’d definitely go with the Charizard, the card having a distinct lack of shadow on the artwork and being the ultimate flex on whichever gym leader or fellow Pokemon enthusiast he crosses paths with.
The new-Charizard owner took to Instagram to explain the purchase and the special meaning it holds, writing “when I was a kid I absolutely loved Pokémon but couldn’t afford the cards. I remember even trying to trade food stamps for theirs and now as an adult who has saved every penny he has made being able to enjoy something that I’ve loved since childhood now as a grown man is like buying back a piece of something I could never have, it’s not about the material it’s about the experience.”
A PSA 10 Base Set 1st Edition Charizard just sold at auction with an ending bid of $183,812.00 via @IconicAuctions.
Including the 20% buyer's premium, the total transaction value exceeds $220k.

Not at all slowing down, the Bobby Tarantino ex-rapper also copped a Pokémon base set box as well as a rare Raichu card, so we have a feeling he’s gonna be dropping a whole lot more on Pokemon products in the future. Check out some more of Logic’s flexing below.
