A heavy dose of psych from Northern England.

Having dropped their tune ‘Without A Warning’ a couple of weeks back and signed to Sydney label Third Eye Stimuli, we are stoked to be bringing Manchester outfit Mister Strange’s debut clip. If you were loving the fuzzy freakiness of the tune, your head may explode upon watching the clip – it’s an absolute corker.

Shot by Joe Graham and drummer Tomas Walmsley (Wash Films), the video sees them taking to the open fields and forest paths of the UK… in reverse. Not exactly sure why, but there’s something so entertaining about the way they’re moving, and it gets better every time you watch. It’s silly, weird, funny and hypnotising all at the same time.

“We filmed this during lockdown, when the weather was fine and there was nothing to do, aspirations were dwindling into eternity but met with a certain relaxation of literally having endless free time. It was the perfect time to kick into gear and work this film. Myself and Joe Graham work as filmmakers – Wash Films – so we drew up a simple storyboard and shot it on one camera over a few scorching hot days on a local golf course and park area,” Walmsley says of the video.

The visuals fit the off-the-wall nature of the track to a tee, with the lyrics focussing on “being given no warning for the impending doom we face on a daily basis, running from the bad to try and seek out goodness,” which is what running backwards must feel like, right?
