O.M.R don’t miss.

Tuck your napkin in, grab your knife and fork and open up your mouth in preparation for the first taste of new music from Sydney psych act O.M.R’s forthcoming debut LP. Having met the group when they popped in for a chat a couple weeks back, we’ve been non-stop rinsing their Lot Lizard EP, and now we have a new one to add to rotation, the groovy ‘Lover, Lover Lover’.

The track has that garage-y feel we’ve come to expect from O.M.R, with spacey vocals and chorus-drenched guitars interweaving with frontman Jeremy’s vocals as he stands and delivers fearlessly. The chorus line “Lover, you can lose my number” is one that will be swimming around your head all day.

“I wanted the first single for this album to capture a new emotion in the music, rather than the violent outbursts of energy in most of our other tracks,”  It isn’t new for us to take influence from a sound very far from our own psych punk tendencies, what is new with this track is we haven’t run it through the blender as much as we usually do. I hope to keep the roots of our 60’s and 70’s influences a bit more transparent across the album.”

Stay tuned for that debut LP from O.M.R and don’t miss their upcoming shows:

Melbourne April 19th at The Tote
Sydney April 26th at Pleasure club
