Old mate Don is gonna run out of music to play…

Donald Trump has pissed off yet another music legend in spectacular fashion. He didn’t even call them any names or say anything totally reprehensible this time (well everything he says is reprehensible but roll with me here), rather, he played a certain song at a campaign rally.

Holding an event in Iowa to drum up support for his campaign, the President played Phil Collins’ legendary track ‘In The Air Tonight’ before he came out. Can we also just take a moment to notice that it’s just so ironic for Trump to play ‘In The Air Tonight’ at a rally, given COVID-19 whose reach literally feels like its “in the air” at this point?

Speaking out after Trump’s use of the famed track, Collins’ representative said “Yes we are well aware of the Trump campaign’s use of this song and we have already issued a ‘cease and desist’ letter via our lawyers who continue to monitor the situation.”

Now, Collins joins the likes of Neil Young, Panic! At The Disco, The Rolling Stones, Linkin Park and the estate of Tom Petty, all of whom have filed a cease and desist letter against the president. We imagine that by November 3 Trump will literally have no music left to play (well except Kanye West, but even that’s looking unlikely now).

Pretty crazy, check out footage of the song played at the rally below.
