The garage-rock reminiscent record sees the group double down on the hybridised electric and acoustic sonic palette that has defined previous singles ‘Need More’, ‘Ship Won’t Change’, and ‘Resign’. Naturally, the emotional weight of the track similarly matches that of their recent releases as well, frontman Matty Took singing about keeping your head on straight amongst the craziness in everyday life.
The four-piece take a slightly experimental approach for the visuals of the new tune, a steady cam watching the band perform from an assortment of TV screens. The low-fi style elevates an already nostalgic single that features plenty of 90s Britpop trimmings.

Speaking on the inspiration for the new clip, frontman Matty Took explains, “We wanted the video for ‘Information Overload’ to be as intense and sporadic as humanly possible so the idea was to make three separate clips and add in affected news clipping and ads. The final product was filming these clips projected on old TV/broadcast monitors – quite obviously portraying the title of the song, but subtly highlighting how when there is so much going on you can’t think at all or do anything with clarity.”
The new single is the latest taste of their upcoming album Information Overload which the four-piece will be taking on the road, hitting stages in Melbourne, Brissy and Sydney. And to top it off, they’ll be supporting The Wiggles for their Sydney show at Qudos Bank Arena in late April.
