Restrained by the recent lockdowns, Polish Club have dropped the electrics (and the horns) for anthemic new song ‘Just Talking’.

When you hear the words Polish Club what do you think? Rock and roll? Big guitars? Iguanas? Memes? All of the above? One thing that you probably don’t think is acoustic guitars… We’re not saying they haven’t done it before (see the epic ‘As Low As It Goes’), but we are saying it’s hardly what the Sydney duo are known for.

“We’ve been writing in a more stripped back environment and it has resulted in music that has to stand up on its own merit with just melody and beat over some chords. That simplicity and directness permeate through the lyrics and message,” frontman Novak says of the band’s writing process.

The resulting tune, ‘Just Talking’ is not your typical acoustic tune with the pair keeping the spirits and energy at pre-COVID levels. Of course the melodies are as lush as ever and, by the end of the track, we have to say we’re thinking stripped-back may be the perfect look for the Polish Club Spring/Summer ‘20 campaign.

The sing-along couldn’t have come at a better time as the band are about to take the stage for a run of shows at the Factory on November 17th and 18th – info + tix. Oh, and you can stream ‘Just Talking’ here.
