Let Dives carry you far away with their latest single ‘Sea Spray’.

You’re unlikely to hear a more aptly titled song than Dives’, AKA Josh Pearson’s, latest track ‘Sea Spray’. Listening the tune feels like being plunged into a watery abyss, with Pearson’s voice guiding you on your adventure into the depths – it’s entrancing, hypnotic, and perhaps most impressively, only their second release.

The vivid imagery conjured by the worldly percussion and lush synths offers something of a departure from the noisey streets of the city to an ocean far away. Effect-laden vocals soar over the Gorillaz-esque beats with Pearson showcasing his ability to source buoyant and sugary melodies that stick around in your head long after the first listen.

Fittingly the lyrics of the song, which has a few melancholic moments, centre around self-doubt and stepping out into the unknown. “‘Sea Spray’ really encapsulates the feeling of being in a limbo-state, a safe – at times blissful – but increasingly frustrating standstill in my life… A burning desire to step forward and chase a childhood dream, but terrified of taking that first step,” Pearson says.

No news on shows as of yet, though it is rumoured a Dives live outfit, complete with members from some of Sydney’s best indie acts, is on its way. Stay tuned.
