Kevin Parker and co are looking to reduce the environmental impact of touring.

Taking to Facebook yesterday, Tame Impala AKA Kevin Parker has announced that the group will be partnering with non-profit company REVERB to “take action on climate change and reduce waste on tour”. The program involves a bunch of initiatives that the band, crew and punters will be a part of including:

– Donating unused food from catering to local shelters.
– Arranging collection of unused hotel toiletries for donation to local shelters.
– Using reusable water bottles and insulated mugs for all band and crew.
– Recycling backstage and on all tour buses.
– Environmentally-friendly cleaning products backstage and on buses.

If you’re a fan and keen to be a part of it you can. With the website encouraging ticket holders to attend Eco-Villages at every stop, where fans can learn more about environmental nonprofits, join REVERB’s unCHANGEit campaign in collaboration with Defend Our Future, use a free filtered water refill station to reduce single-use plastic waste, donate for a custom Nalgene bottle, and get a Tame Impala eco-friendly guitar pick.

It once again looks like Tame are blazing ahead in the music world once again. Let’s hope more acts follow in their (carbon) footprints. Head here to learn more:
