Sydney selector and queen of aesthetic Teachesofpeaches has just droppped a mix filled with ass-shaking alien electronica, which is basically a 20-minute heart palpitation in the best way possible.
Teachesofpeaches played at Honey last weekend, Sydney’s own club night with all-female DJ line-ups dropping all-female bangers. She was so inspired by the night’s events that she went home and whipped up this ‘Girls Only’ mix, which re-imagines all of your favourite R&B stars in a futuristic alternate universe, one that’s filled with mechanical rainbows and robots dancing erratically. There’s a Ritalin-infused version of Rihanna’s ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’ on here that sounds like the music that they play at laser tag. I fucking love laser tag. It’s called the ‘Mstk X Sartana Remix’ and for a minute I thought this said ‘Santana’ and now I’m pondering what it would sound like if RiRi hopped on the Grammy-award winning 1999 hit ‘Smooth‘ by Santana feat. Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20.
Other hyperactive remixes include ‘WTF’ by Missy Elliot and the best song/best music video of all time, ‘Ride’ by Ciara. While this might be a ‘Girls Only’ mix, Ludacris still gets an inclusion on the latter – just one feature from his colossal pile of guest verses including ‘Baby‘ by Justin Bieber and the immortal anthem ‘Glamorous‘ by Fergie. Sidenote: A mash-up of Slipknot & Justin Bieber exists on YouTube and it’s actually great.
