With their Strife EP making waves in the punk/garage underground of Australia and beyond, a sold-out run of shows, and the quartet hitting the independent charts for the first time, it’s safe to say that Flight To Dubai have had a pretty productive 2020. We knew from the pre-released singles from Strife – ‘Crycentennial Man’, ‘Sparse Space’ and ‘Firefighter Lady’ – that we were in safe hands and the group have not disappointed, delivering a full body of anthemic heart-on-sleeve post-punk gems.

Today they share a spanking new video for ‘Failure’ that features a collage of footage captured by longtime collaborator and master of anything behind the lens, Charlie Hardy. Swaying between chaotic sessions on stage and moments of glory in the studio, the clip offers a behind-the-scenes look at FTD which is nice for those of us who have only witnessed their prowess on stage.

“The collection of footage sums up our frantic and passionate take on performing and writing during the time frame of making Strife. The visual pairing of Charlie’s fly on the wall approach and front row seat provides an accurate account of who we are and reflects the raw and energetic persona of our latest release,” says bassist Beau Hardy.

The lads will be taking to the stage at Newcastle’s Small Ballroom this Friday for a sold-out show, so if you missed it, you missed out.
