With his first release ‘Silence’ still buzzing in our ears, 22-year-old Melbourne rapper and producer Boler Mani has shared a powerful new tune that cements his one-to-watch status. ‘Buggy’ immediately hits you with a warbly club-ready beat with Mani’s Kendrick-influenced vocals given free reign, unleashing bar after bar of heat.
“When I was making the beat for ‘Buggy’, the sounds I was scrolling through felt like they were just showing up perfectly, like exactly what I needed, landing perfectly in place against each other,” he says of the track. “It was one of those sessions where everything was just effortlessly unfolding. It was shaping up to be really colourful so I wanted to compliment that lyrically. I keep the words fairly light hearted and tongue-in-cheek, focusing mostly on the sonics and flow to keep the energy up.”
“It was one of those songs that I kept replaying and that’s always a telling sign you got something good on your hands. I loved how satisfying the spacey, almost psychedelic intro kind of puts you in a trance before collapsing into the drop, like it’s punching you back to sobriety. I feel like this song really wakes you up.”

Hats off to the team behind the accompanying video – it was directed and edited by BraydenFunFilms and Fractrd – which sees Mani sucked into the world of gaming. It begins with some of the OG games before delving further into VR where Boler reaches peak overstimulation. As he spits throughout, there are really no low points in the video, much like the song.
