Definitely on a creative high right now…

Continuing their stellar Song Machine series featuring the world’s most talented and exciting artists, Gorillaz have properly outdone themselves this time, linking up with The Cure legend Robert Smith for their new tune ‘Strange Timez’. Of course the visuals are top notch, showcasing the animated Gorillaz messing about up on the moon and around the cosmos, with Robert Smith’s face appears on various space objects while delivering those powerful vocals. The song has a really cool alternative/ retro vibe that sees the Gorillaz and Smith meet square in the middle of their respective genres, and definitely makes for a unique gem that we’re desperately hoping the pair one day follow up on.

The new tune kicks off the Song Machine: Season One — Strange Timez tracklist, which was properly revealed today. It’s properly stacked, featuring artists such as Elton John, 6lack, St. Vincent, Jpegmafia and numerous more on songs that haven’t been released yet. It’s pretty exciting, and it appears Gorillaz and their Song Machine series are in quite high demand right now. Check the video and tracklisting below.
