We all know that being a international celeb is no easy gig. Sure, you’ve got the wealth, legions of adoring fans and enough instagram followers to start your own country with, but it’s safe to say it’s a job that comes with its share of downsides. One such example is shitty fans, and more specifically; shitty fans who mistake you for other celebs.
It’s a tale as old as time; from Samuel L. Jackson and Lawrence Fishburne to Amy Adams and Isla Fisher and of course, Bryce Dallas Howard and Jessica Chastain. The most recent instance of it is Jason Derulo and Usher, and as someone in Las Vegas recently found out the hard way, Jason Derulo doesn’t take too kindly to being mistaken for other artists.
Video from the altercation sees Derulo walking through a Las Vegas hotel lobby when someone yells “Yo Usher” and proceeds to throw some profanities at him. Then, snapping as if a switch has gone off in his head, Derulo rushes him with ridiculous speed. Adding insult to injury, an accomplice can be heard yelling “Don’t touch my boy,” to which Derulo proceeds to beat him up with equally frightening ferocity (totally justified in my opinion).
It’s a pretty rowdy way to start 2022, and no doubt Derulo has inadvertently guaranteed he’ll never be mistaken for Usher, or anyone else, every again. Peep video of the full altercation below.
