A lot of blues…

Miley Cyrus made her long-awaited return to SNL in style over the weekend, once again providing good tunes and high energy as she served as the musical guest for the sixth time. And she kicked things off with a bang too, teaming up with homegrown superstar The Kid LAROI for an intense cover of his hit ‘Without You.’

The rendition saw the pair singing side by side as they were backed up by minimal orchestration and production, the two stars going absolutely ham on their own vocal parts. We also have to mention that there’s just a tonne of blues in the lighting department as well, matching the melancholic nature of the tune just perfectly.

Her other performance of the night saw her perform ‘Plastic Hearts’ speeding things up for a more lively couple of minutes. The tune saw her once again return to her country/ folk roots, singing with a Dolly Parton-like flare as she’s backed by the multi-layered instrumentation.

She definitely accomplished what a musical guest aims to, and no doubt she’ll probably be back on the show again before the year is out. Check her renditions of ‘Without You’ and ‘Plastic Hearts’ below.
