After weeks of teasing and building hype, world-revered rapper Post Malone has finally made his virtual performance debut over the weekend, performing at the Pokémon 25th Anniversary Concert for ‘Pokémon Day’.
Pulling out the big guns for the performance, Posty jammed out a bunch of hits from his numerous albums. From ‘Psycho’ to ‘Circles’ to ‘Congratulations’ and his cover of Hootie and the Blowfish classic ‘Only Wanna Be With You,’ the Beerbongs and Bentley’s curator really went all out for the big day.
It’s a pretty genius idea, with Post performing amongst shifting virtual settings and landscapes that are all super surreal. And just because it’s a performance, that doesn’t mean the Pokémon can’t get in on the action! Numerous points during the gig saw characters from the Pokémon universe join in, with characters like Lugia, Gyarados and Umbreon flying and swimming by while Post sings about relationships, sex, heartbreak and essentially all of his most iconic themes.
My favorite part of the Pokémon 25th anniversary concert was when Lugia flew by as Post Malone was singing about being in a relationship just for the sex. pic.twitter.com/IpNN3T117M
