December can’t come fast enough…

Are you missing the undefinable magic of live music? The special energy it emanates that never fails to bring people together? Recent Hottest 100 of the Decade winner and overall musical genius Tame Impala has got you covered and then some, releasing a special live performance of his beautiful hit ‘Patience’ from Coachella 2019 to electrify your souls.

For a little over five minutes, the performance transports you to the California desert with total ease as Kevin Parker’s magical vocals serenade us with his words about time. Not to mention, swirling colours bombarded with kaleidoscope effects in glorious Tame Impala style. Just an overflow of psychedelic euphoria that no amount of self-isolation or lockdown can tarnish. Also, special shout out to that angelic falsetto that is just as gorgeous as ever! If the word ‘pure’ had a trademark sound, it would without a doubt be Kev’s falsetto.

The video honestly couldn’t have come at a better time, with Parker seemingly able to sense the overall restlessness live music fans are feeling at a time like this. There was a solid 30 seconds while watching that where I completely forgot about the current state of the world, instead just lost in all the mind-blowing wonder that is inherent to a Tame Impala performance. And hey, to do that in the current climate is no small thing.

The video is the latest offering Parker has blessed us with after recently releasing the totally transportive The Slow Rush In An Imaginary Place as well as his collaboration with English Rap project The Streets ‘Call My Phone Thinking I’m Doing Nothing Better’. It seems lockdown is doing nothing to slow down Parker’s release schedule, and for that we’re immensely grateful.

Fans will have to wait till December to see their god live and up close, after his Aussie shows in April were postponed due to the COVID-19 crisis. Suffice it to say, if there is any artist in the world that’s worth waiting over half a year for, it’s without a doubt Tame Impala, one of Australia’s greatest exports. To say we’re beyond keen would be the understatement of the century…
