Watch: The Wombats Cover Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’ For Like A Version

The Wombats have covered Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’ for triple j’s Like A Version series. Bringing heavier guitar strings and lower harmonies to the 1985 original, the English rock trio add to the track’s recent resurgence after featuring in an episode of Stranger Things’ most recent fourth season.
The Wombats’ take on the song, which is currently the number one single in Australia, follows three other appearances on the series, the last of which saw them cover the Bing Crosby track, ‘White Christmas’ in 2018. Elsewhere, the band performed a live rendition of their own song, ‘This Car Drives All By Itself’, which was lifted from their most recent 2022 album, Fix Yourself, Not the World.
