Award shows are overrated anyway…

The Grammys’ huge, almost criminal snub of The Weeknd from this years awards has been met with mad criticism from the jump, the move being used as a lightening rod to prove that the Recording Academy has lost their relevance since their inception over half a century ago. Naturally, The Weeknd has expressed his dissatisfaction with the snub multiple times, most notably when he called them out on Instagram, labelling them as “corrupt” and calling them out for their lack of transparency.

Now, it appears he’s thrown his last bit of shade at the Academy, finally getting it all out of his system as he graced the cover of Billboard magazine with his XO Records co-founders.

Touching upon his feud with the awards during the Billboard editorial, Abel’s manager and founder/ CEO of SALXCO said “What is that secret committee? What the f*ck? They should cancel the f–king secret committee and become full transparency.

“It’s a powerful, special award, but the leadership there has got to go. They’re weak.”

The Weeknd then chucked his own two cents in, saying with a pretty chilled, slightly salt-tinged air “Look, I personally don’t care anymore. I have three Grammys, which mean nothing to me now, obviously. It’s not like, ‘Oh, I want the Grammy!’ It’s just that this happened, and I’m down to get in front of the fire, as long as it never happens again.

“I suck at giving speeches anyways. Forget awards shows.”
