Ready for Newtown overload.

You probably couldn’t get any more “Newtown” than the craft beer company, famous for its Newtowner, and the most iconic pub in the 2042 postcode coming together for a street party, could you? The answer is no. And now punters have the opportunity revel in everything Newtown, with the announcement that The Courty & Young Henrys are teaming up with Mary’s to shut down Eliza St on December 2nd for a pay-by-donation genre-spanning gig.

The acts announced so far include pub music champions Sweet Talk, 70’s groove maestros Greatest Hits and idyllic indie-rock up-and-comers Salarymen. Also joining the lineup is RISSA, charming punters with her R&B and gospel influences, Lady Lyon, who brings nostalgia-driven cowgirl blues, groove merchants Manfredo Lament and Evening Records DJs on the decks.

“Newtown is a weird, wonderful and welcoming place and this free event invites all to come on down to shake a leg, high five your friends and make a few more to the sounds, sights and smells of what this great suburb has to offer,” says Young Henrys head honcho Oscar Mcmahon. “Party on people, party on!”

Burgers from Mary’s will be available on the day and we can safely assume there will be Young Henrys flowing like that foamy beer river of your fantasies. Donations will go to the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre. Check out the lineup (so far) below and head here for details:
