Yesterday, we celebrated the birthday of one of the best storytellers to ever pick up a microphone: Tupac Shakur.

Having revolutionised West Coast hip-hop with a string of stellar albums throughout his career, his life was tragically cut short in 1996. Many from the urban realm paid their respects to the Californian GOAT – but soul singer Jhene Aiko took things further with her own photography tribute to the late star.

Replicating his All Eyez On Me album cover and other iconic images, Aiko once again confirms her status as one of the most beautiful people to walk on Planet Earth.

I wasn’t worried about what people were going to think, because it’s just a personal thing for me. I’m not doing it for people to be like, ‘Oh, wow.’ For me, it’s just about expressing my gratitude towards him and his legacy,” she said.

P.S. Her favourite ‘Pac song is ‘Keep Your Head Up’. See the images below courtesy of MTV, and make sure you catch Jhene Aiko when she hits Australia for Soulfest alongside Mary J Blige, Miguel & more:
