While burger aficionados have been waiting in line since 6:00am for today’s In-N-Out pop-up store in Sydney, we’re currently frothing over an even bigger fast food power move: Chocolate-covered fries in Japan.

Starting from January 26, you’ll be able to get Maccas’ famous golden fries drizzled in white and dark chocolate in a dish that’s been dubbed the ‘McChoco Potato’. According to this convincing press statement from the corporation, “the combination creates a wonderful salty and sweet harmonious taste.”

While Australians have been recently treated to cheese, bacon bits, salsa and guacamole as optional toppings for their fries, this really does take it to the next level. Book yourself a cheeky flight to Japan so you can taste the McChoco Potato for yourself. Alternatively, order some regular fries from Kingsford drive-thru and ask them to squeeze a fuckload of chocolate sundae sauce in there for good measure.

The limited edition, very rare McChoco Potato will be available to hungry Japanese customers until mid-February.
