Raekwon recently launched his codeine-covered footwear collaboration with Packer Shoes & Diadora, and while the purp is sure to turn plenty of heads, the OG NYC spitter also made some interesting comments regarding a possible Wu-Tang Clan biopic.

With so much attention of the West Coast in the aftermath of Straight Outta Compton, there’s no doubt that many heads want to see the East Coast also get some shine on the big screen – and there’s no crew more pivotal, diverse and tumultuous than the Wu-Tang Clan. With more core members and ‘affiliates’ than we can count, we’re sure that there’s plenty of stories going around since their inception two decades ago.

Raekwon took time to speak on the biopic, seemingly suggesting that it’s definitely in his future in an interview with Hot 97.

“When we make a Wu movie, bet your ass its gonna be serious, because we gotta tell the truth. And I think that’s what I love about the Straight Outta Compton movie is that they told the truth. When we do get to that level and it happens, it has to be the real story. It’s gonna be an interesting one, cause I said – RZA hit the lotto one day. He knew who he had, but he didn’t know what he had. So let’s keep it right there,” he said.

Watch the interview below for the quote, which kicks off at around the 9 minute mark:
