Footage from Perth’s Good Life Festival has shown a vicious attack on a security guard, prompting an online hunt for the perpetrator and an investigation by the police.

In a video uploaded to the Facebook page ‘Most Wanted Lads‘, a security guard is shown wrestling with one attendee before a third party enters the frame, kicking the security guard in the head. Both parties then flee, leaving the security guard slumped on the floor. The comments section of the video has now turned into an unofficial search for the attacker, while the video itself is captioned “This is unacceptable – Find the scum and report him ASAP.”

Since the video was uploaded last night, Good Life have responded to the incident in a statement:

The safety of Good Life attendees and staff is our highest priority. Promoters do not condone violence of any kind, and take these issues extremely seriously.

Following the incident on site, the security guard in question was immediately attended to by medical teams and taken to hospital by an on-site ambulance for assessment. He was discharged a few hours later. Good Life promoters will continue to monitor his well-being. The incident is being investigated by the Police.

Good Life works months in advance of each city to put detailed security and contingency plans in place, working carefully with stakeholders to ensure the safety of our patrons.

There is absolutely no place for this behaviour in Australian festival culture.

This is unacceptable Find the scum and report him ASAP
