We were fortunate enough to share a cheeseburger with The Meeting Tree a few weeks ago at The Lord Gladstone in Chippendale – and now the venue will play host to an unprecedented, groundbreaking event next week.

The Meeting Tree, consisting of Joyride & Raph Lauren, will be hosting a 24 hour long lunch on July 1 from midday for what they have deemed a celebration of the “Financial Year of the Long Lunch”. This is an ambitious endeavour from the duo, who will also be live streaming the entire event right right here.

They have invited punters down to join them at the dining table, in what will be a very rare opportunity to share burgers, beers and banter with the self-proclaimed Godfathers of Australian Dance Music.

In an exclusive quote from producer Raph Lauren, he knows that “it will be a tough slog, but it feels good to be able to give something back.”

“We have been blown away by the support we’ve been given from across the board – from journalists, to comedians, to musicians, to influential business types,” he continues.

The Meeting Tree shattered the ARIA charts with their highly influential debut EP ‘r u a cop’, which was unanimously hailed as “the most exciting sounds to emerge from Redfern since Anthony Mundine’s rap career.”

The accompanying viral video for the title track also spread like wildfire across social media platforms, and included a welcome cameo from Adam Hyde of Peking Duk.

Head to The Lord Gladstone next week to witness history in the making:
