With the recent release of his album Purpose, it seems as though Justin Bieber has managed to get the majority of music critics on his side – and with good reason. An emotive, catchy and slick collection of unadulterated pop, Purpose is enough to have people wearing the Belieber tag with pride.
Now that we’ve all been converted into JB disciples, here comes his take on the 6 God – an acoustic cover of ‘Hotline Bling’. It’s hard to think of a 2015 track which has been as inescapable as this, from the baby pink artwork to Drizzy’s questionable dance moves. Bieber’s rendition is a more soothing take on the club favourite, making it an all Canadian affair that has everybody in the audience filming on Snapchat instead of watching the actual show.
