So unlucky…

The Golden Stage Warriors have suffered a nightmare deck of cards that no-one saw coming, with reports that All-Star Klay Thompson has torn his achilles swarming the internet.  The news was broken by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, with the commentator writing that “Based on the type of tear, Thompson has been told to expect that he will make a full recovery.”

Without Thompson Steph Curry is definitely gonna hell of a hard time in the upcoming season, with their partnership being the main reason behind the Warriors’ mad success on the court. Speaking on the news, controversial commentator Stephen A. Smith said “This is nightmarish. This is nightmarish. All championship hopes are out the window.

“You need both. You can’t have Klay without Steph. You can’t have Steph without Klay and talk championship. You can talk playoffs. You can talk excitement. You can talk box-office appeal, but you can’t talk championship having one without the other.

“You need both of them. This is the greatest shooting backcourt we have ever seen.”

Pretty devastating, especially given Thompson tore his ACL in the 2019 finals and spent the following season in intense rehab in an attempt to get back to full strength. It’ll definitely be interesting to see how the Warriors respond though, with them losing their second-best scorer and shooter, as well as their strongest defender.

Whether or not he’ll return before the end of the season remains to be seen. But fingers crossed we see him back on the court sometime in the near future. Check out his glorious return following tearing his ACL in the 2019 finals below.
