In a dope move that’ll bring a smile to any Kobe fan’s face, the LA Lakers are set to wear the ‘Black Mamba’ jerseys, inspired and co-designed by the late Kobe Bryant, on the court for the remainder of the season. However, the Lakers will have to make it past the first round of playoffs against the Portland Trail Blazers to do so.
The uniforms feature a gorgeous black colour scheme with snakeskin print, along with 16 stars on the side to represent the 16 championships the Lakers have won. Since Bryant’s death, the Lakers have donned patches bearing his initials “KB” during games, but it’s unclear as to why they’re only now deciding to wear the ‘Black Mamba’ jerseys.
The Lakers haven’t played the Trail Blazers since their first game after Kobe’s death, a game they sadly lost, so no doubt they’re gonna have to dig deep if they wanna reach the second round. But the mere possibility of wearing the ‘Black Mamba’ jersey will hopefully serve as enough inspiration to push them through. Fingers crossed they make it through when they play Portland this Friday and get to make the spirit of Kobe and his daughter Gianna proud.
