LeBron James continues to spread his wings and wealth of influence over the sporting world, going from just a mere player to a proper business magnate that is actively contributing and help push sport into the next frontier. His latest acquisition is solid proof that whether its basketball, football or baseball, it doesn’t matter, he’s itching to get his hands into as many ventures as possible.
Now, it’s being reported that James, along with his mate and business partner Maverick Carter, have joined Fenway Sports Group as partners, which consequently makes them them part-owners of legendary baseball team the Boston Red Sox. It’s a pretty big deal for the star, considering he’s a widely known Yankees fan. But he’s also made history in the process, with him and Carter becoming the first black partners in FSG’s history.
With the part ownership, James continues to strengthen his influence over the sporting world and that of his relationship with Fenway Sports Group. With FSG, he now has a piece of the pie in various leagues, co-owning English Premiere League teams, having a wide array of influence in basketball, and of course, owning the Red Sox.
Pretty kick ass move. Check out the full details of the deal below.
