The PGA Tour definitely got off to a crazy start last week, with golf legend Tiger Woods being involved in a serious car crash just as players were beginning to arrive in Florida for their initial media obligations. It was so bad that he had to be extracted with the jaws of life from the wreck, and after news of his extensive injuries came to light, it became clear that Woods wouldn’t be on the golf course for quite a while.
Thus, his peers and those he inspired decided to pay tribute to the man that paved the way for them and their sport, and they’ve done it in the most Tiger way possible. Breaking out whatever red and black outfits they had on them over the weekend, numerous golfers emulated the classic Sunday Tiger look at concession (basically a red top with black bottoms).
From Justin Thomas to Tony Finau and even Tiger’s longtime rival Phil Mickelson, everyone got in on the action, donning the classic red and black. They even went beyond just recreating his look, with others like Bryson DeChambeau putting a ball in play with Tiger’s name.
Definitely a classy tribute fit for one of the pioneers of the sport. Fingers crossed we see the man who inspired it back on the golf course real soon. Check out the outpour of love below.
