Sports docos are definitely making a resurgence in the entertainment sphere, with fans desperate to know the ins and outs of their favourite athletes, and this very athletes keen to do a bit of reflecting on their careers. We probably have The Last Dance to thank for that, the Netflix doco about Michael Jordan’s time with the Chicago Bulls absolutely killing it on the streaming service. Now, it seems that some local talent is getting around the idea of a tell-all doco, as cricket legend Shane Warne has revealed that he’s signed on for a documentary titled ‘Shane‘.
Speaking on Fox Cricket’s A Week With Warnie, the cricket star wasn’t able to confirm what company he’s signed with, but he did let us in on what the doco will entail.
“They want to experience what I’m like as a father at home, poker in Las Vegas, commentary here in Australia and in England, they want to go to India during the IPL and watch me team mentor, and generally just follow me around.”
Sounds thorough to say the least, Warnie has assured us that nothing is going to be off limits as well, stating “we’re going to do sit-down interviews about everything. Nothing’s off limits. We’re going to go in-depth about it all”.
A no-holds barred Shane Warne docu-series? There’s no way this isn’t going to kill with cricket fans and just genuine sporting fans around the country, with Warnie being a prime figure in Aussie sporting culture. We’ll be watching intently for when more details are released…
