Very fitting…

Keeping up the overflow of tributes flooding in for Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, the Los Angeles City Council has announced that Figueroa Street, the street outside the Staples Center between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Olympic Boulevard, will be renamed as Kobe Bryant Boulevard.

Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, Council member Herb J. Wesson, Jr. wrote “Figueroa St. will soon be Kobe Bryant Blvd. between Olympic & MLK. Kobe’s legacy is bigger than basketball. #KobeBryantBlvd will be a reminder to everyone, young and old who drive down it, there is no obstacle too big and that with the #Mambamentality, anything is possible.”

Along with this, the Lakers will wear ‘Black Mamba” uniforms for Kobe and Gianna in Game 4 against the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday. It all comes at a pretty big time for the Bryant family, who celebrated Kobe’s 42nd birthday this past Sunday. Here’s hoping we see plenty more tributes to the family like this to come…
