How does this keep happening…

In possibly the worst luck in the history of tennis, Novak Djokovic has suffered some bloody awful deja vu recently, hitting another line judge in the face with a ball yesterday. The moment came after Novak extended himself to make a forehand in the first set, but the ball somehow his the frame of his racket and launched itself into a line judge sitting nearby.

Repeating events from the last incident at the US Open, Djokovic went right over to check on him immediately. Speaking on the incident, he said “My gosh, it was very awkward deja vu. I’m actually trying to find the linesperson and see if he’s okay because I saw he had a little bit of a bruise, like redness, in that place in the head where the ball hit him.

“I hope he’s fine. I mean, he definitely dealt with it in a very strong and brave way. But it was a hit because I was very close.”

Despite the whole ordeal, the world number one managed to win the match against Russia’s Karen Khachanov and progress to the quarter finals for the Paris Grand Slam, where he’ll face off against either Spain’s Pablo Carreno Busta or Germany’s Daniel Altmaier for a place in the semi-finals.
