After testing positive for COVID-19 at the end of March, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been moved to ICU after battling symptoms for more than 10 days. Although his office insisted he was taken to hospital initially as a precautionary measure, his condition has since significantly worsened.
The PM’s office No. 10 Downing Street has since issued a statement since his move to intensive care, stating “over the course of this afternoon, the condition of the Prime Minister has worsened and, on the advice of his medical team, he has been moved to the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital,” the statement said.
As of Monday the UK has 47,806 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 4,934 deaths.
His partner, Carrie Symonds, is said to be in recovery after being bedridden with symptoms for a week, although she hasn’t been tested for the virus yet. They’ve been separated ever since confirmation of Johnsons diagnosis.
Here’s hoping he makes a speedy recovery real soon…
