If you were listening to the Hottest 100 on Saturday, odds are you got on the beers. Odds are you drank yourselves silly while celebrating the most popular tunes of 2020, and ended up feeling scat AF Sunday morning (I’m still recovering if I’m honest).
However, we’re betting there was a certain moment during the countdown that majorly stuck out; of course, we’re talking about the infamous ‘Get On The Beers’ remix featuring Daniel Andrews, which placed 12th in the countdown.
Now. the Victorian Premier himself has commented on his cracking the Hottest 100, saying online “Two things are clear: Now that a politician has made the Hottest 100, it is no longer hot. Sorry about that.
“It’s officially time to get on the beers.”
His comedic tricks didnt stop there, congratulating Mashd N Kutcher in the comments and saying “Congrats to Mashd N Kutcher – I look forward to our next ‘collaboration'” to which they hilariously replied “Couldn’t have done it without you captain.” Well this is just a bit bloody wholesome.
Two things are clear:
1. Now that a politician has made the Hottest 100, it is no longer hot. Sorry about that.
2. It’s officially time to get on the beers.

Along with his Facebook post, he also made a statement to triple j, saying “I want to congratulate Mashd N Kutcher for making it into the Hottest 100. I haven’t heard a lot of their work, but this particular song? I’ve heard once or twice.”
“I’m pleased to be in great company among other Hottest 100 novelty artists like Denis Leary, Adam Sandler, and Pauline Pantsdown. I think we can all agree their contributions have stood the test of time.”
“What’s clear is that now a politician has made the Hottest 100, this is probably going to be the last Hottest 100 – it’s no longer Hot. I’m sorry to all the Gen-Xers out there who have to bid farewell to their most important annual cultural tradition.”
I think we can make an exception just this one time. Here’s hoping this is the first of many Dan Andrews remixes to make the countdown.
